About Nick Saladin - Drone Pilot and Product Designer

I've always enjoyed solving problems, whether that means capturing the right perspective from the air or improving the way people interact with technology. While drone services and product design may seem like very different fields, they both come down to the same goal: helping people make better decisions through thoughtful planning, clear communication, and reliable results.

Aerial Imaging

I began flying drones recreationally in 2018 and have spent years building experience in the air before launching Rockies Aerial Imaging & Design as a professional service. As an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot, I now provide aerial imaging for property owners, contractors, ranchers, businesses, real estate professionals, and agencies that need reliable visual documentation from above.

Safety is part of every flight. Careful planning, airspace coordination, and attention to detail ensure every project is completed professionally and responsibly. I currently operate a DJI Matrice 4TD equipped with zoom and thermal sensors, allowing me to support a wide range of commercial applications.

Product Design & Research

My background in UX and product design includes work on digital products used by large user bases across fintech, healthcare, food and drug regulatory research, telecommunications, internal business tools, mobile apps, and customer support platforms. Throughout my career, I have partnered with product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and research teams to simplify complex workflows, improve usability, and design experiences that solve real problems.

My process starts with understanding the people using a product and the goals behind it. From there, I use research, strategy, wireframes, prototypes, usability testing, visual design, and iteration to shape digital experiences that are clear, practical, and easier to use.

In addition to UX and product design, I also provide select branding, visual identity, marketing design, and website design services for businesses that need a clearer and more professional digital presence.
